S’Espalmador is an island located to the north of Formentera stretching almost 3000 metres in length. It's cliff-lined coast, with the exception of the coves in the south and north-east, are the ideal refuge for sailboats thanks to the protection offered by Illa de Sa Torreta. Seeing travellers crossing the stretch from Formentera to this island by foot is commonplace when the weather permits. Its muddy lagoon is a popular attraction amongst visitors, who take mud baths here.
